White Team Held 1-1 at Oglethorpe

The White Team took on Oglethorpe University’s reserve team tonight and was unlucky to be held to just a goal a piece. While the draw suggests an even match, the White Team dominated all aspects of the game, creating chance after chance on goal, but just falling short when the final whistle blew.

The only goal came from a brilliant display of possession, eventually leading to Owen Ribes finding space to cross into the box. Felipe Galarza, who recently returned from injury, was there to collect the cross with a great first touch and applied a tidy finish to the bottom corner to level the score at 1-1.

While the game finished with no more goals to discuss, there certainly could’ve been quite a few more for Tech. It just wasn’t their day in front of goal as the woodwork, as well as the opposing keeper, seemed to keep out shot after shot on goal.

The team looks to work hard throughout the following week in preparation for the regional tournament held in Richmond, Virginia a week from now.
