White Team shuts out KSU in 4-0 Win
The White Team took on Kennesaw State University in an early morning home clash today. After putting together a high-quality performance against their opposition, the team was rewarded with four goals and a clean sheet to show for it.
Full back, Creighton Goerner opened the scoring after firing home a loose ball from a corner kick. Goerner's fine finish gave Tech an early 1-0 lead in the first half.
Jordan Richardson doubled the lead from outside the area after cutting inside onto his left foot and scoring with a curling effort. The goal came shortly after the first, really applying the pressure to KSU's defense (2-0).
William Anong scored the third with a close-range effort. After a whipped cross into the box, midfielder, Brooks Buckelew, headed the ball back across for Anong to latch onto. The goal made it 3-0 to the home side by halftime.
Lastly, late in the second half, Buckelew provided the fourth when Ethan Michel's cross was saved into the path of the oncoming midfielder. A strong shot from inside the 18-yard box closed the game out at 4-0.
Today's match marks the end of the White Team's run of home games for the moment, with the next being in October against UGA. That said, the White Team hopes to take this morning's form into their big tournament at the University of Florida next weekend.
