Gold Team Roll Past ATLetic Juniors 5-1
The Gold Team was back in ADASL action this afternoon against league rivals ATLetic Juniors following last weekend's automatic win via forfeit. The Gold Team did well to net five times against the opposition away from home.
Jordan Richardson opened the scoring after fellow sophomore, Ricky Husemann, tackled his defender and served a ball for Richardson to fire in from close range (1-0).
Trevor Hyman scored the second after Husemann, once again, slotted Richardson into the final third for him to drive a cross into the box. The low cross allowed Hyman to finish first time and double the lead (2-0).
Shortly after the half, Hyman and winger, Luis Pujol linked play in the attacking third, allowing Pujol to cut in on his left-foot and shoot towards goal with a deflection along the way (3-0).
Following a strong run along the left flank, Shane Woodruff combined with Jonathan Leo to force a save from the opposing goalkeeper, however the rebound landed nicely for Leo to tap-in from close range (4-1).
Finally, Trevor Hyman scored his second of the game following intricate link-up play between the forwards and midfielders. The move towards goal ending with a perfectly weighted layoff for Hyman to drive into the bottom left corner (5-1).
The Gold Team will look to continue their chase for the ADASL title and promotion as they take on AFC Clayton next time out.
