Gold Team Conquer GA Revs U21 3-0

The Gold Team defeated the Georgia Revolution U21's 3-0 in the last match of the ADASL season before the new year. In a special match for three graduating seniors, the Gold Team certainly delivered on the occasion.

Freshman, Matthew Bishop, opened the scoring with only ten minutes remaining in the first half. After a series of passes in the opposing team's final third, a flick over the backline from Nick Rath fell for Bishop to muscle his way through a challenge and finish over the keeper's head to break the deadlock (1-0).

In the second half, striker, Robert Pierrard found the bottom corner after being the first to a loose ball inside the box. Battling against multiple defenders for possession, Pierrard eventually came out with the ball and slotted underneath the keeper's outstretched arm for the second goal of the game (2-0).

Shortly after, Richard Husemann finished off the game with a wonderfully placed tap-in from 10-yards. Jordan Richardson drove past the opposing team's full back and picked out his fellow sophomore in space for Husemann to strike into the side netting (3-0).

The Gold Team complete the first half of the season with an undefeated record of 7 wins, 1 draw, and zero losses. Their next game will be at the start of the Spring 2020 semester in January.

Graduating seniors, Reed Blevins, Armon Varmeziar, Sam Westacott, and Bradley Streit all played integral parts in the success of the team, both, this afternoon and throughout the past seven ADASL games of the current season. The invaluable leadership and experience they have provided the team throughout their college careers has cultivated an extremely special group of players that continue to grow each game. Their presence within the club has certainly changed it for the better, and that presence will most definitely be missed as they move on to the next chapter of their lives. Words can't express the team's gratitude and respect for these individuals, but on behalf of the entire club, thank you for who you are as players, as gentlemen, and as role models, we couldn't be who we are without you.
