Gold Team Held 2-2 vs. Prima FC

The Gold Team were back in action this afternoon against a physical Prima FC side. While the Gold Team still remains undefeated, Prima FC managed a point in the tense 2-2 draw.

Sophomores, Robert Pierrard and Jordan Richardson, linked together for the opening goal in the first half. Seth Daly's pinpoint diagonal ball into Richardson allowed him to drive past his defender, get to the end line, and pick out Pierrard racing into the 6-yard box to open the scoring (1-0).

Just before the end of the first half, Ricky Husemann added to the lead after finishing off a lightning-fast counter attack. Husemann initiated the counter with a quick set of passes with Luis Pujol before knocking the ball to the other flank where Richardson was there to collect. Richardson drove with the ball towards his defender before slotting Husemann into space just outside the 18-yard box. From the edge of the area, Husemann was clinical in finding the bottom left corner and doubled the lead as a result (2-0).

The first half ended 2-0 and although the Gold Team had some good opportunities to score in the second half, Prima found two goals in the second half to level the score at 2-2.

While a physical battle in every part of the pitch, the Gold Team was unfortunate not to benefit from the serial amount of fouls against them. Their opponents were fortunate to escape with all 11 men still on the pitch at full time.

Nonetheless, the Gold Team still remains undefeated and will look to bounce back with a strong win next weekend against MOBA Upper 90.
