Gold Team Defeat ATLetic Juniors 4-1

Following the close of the White Team's season this past weekend, the Gold Team, who is about halfway through the ADASL season, continued its winning form against fellow undefeated club, ATLetic Juniors. The crucial matchup fell favorite to the Gold Team as they swept past their promotion rivals in a 4-1 victory.

The opening goal came in the first half when Jonathan Leo found the back of the net from Alex Varghese's inch-perfect cross into the area (1-0).

Later in the half, striker, Nick Rath tapped-in from 6 yards after Leo raced down to the end line, beat his man 1-v-1, and set up Rath to double the lead (2-0).

In the second half, winger, Josh Burr supplied an excellent finish from what seemed like nothing. Alex Varghese's throw-in deflected into Burr's path where he volleyed into the back of the net for the third goal (3-1).

Lastly, Alex Varghese, after being heavily involved in two of the previous goals, finally etched his name on the score sheet after converting from a penalty kick to seal the win for the Gold Team (4-1).

The big win leaves just three undefeated clubs in the league. As the Gold Team takes on Prima FC next Sunday, they will certainly look to maintain this excellent run of form into the latter portion of the season.
