White Team Conquers UGA 1-0!

The White Team came out on top against fierce rivals UGA tonight with a 1-0 win in the final match of the regular season. Both, the University of Georgia and the White Team had a spot at regionals up for grabs tonight and it certainly showed. Under the lights, the match was a fast paced, open match, with both teams registering chances throughout.

The single goal scored came about midway through the second half after Tech had just defended a corner kick. When the ball was cleared away from goal, sophomore, Jordan Richardson drove with the ball out of his own 18-yard box and played a fizzed 30-yard diagonal ball along the floor towards striker, Michael Sullivan. As the ball was arriving at Sullivan's feet, he skillfully let the ball roll through his legs, where Makram Chahine was there to collect in space. Chahine cut inside on his favorite left foot, and fired a low drive to the bottom left corner to put Tech ahead.

The goal turned out to be the winning goal even though there were chances to double the lead. Nonetheless, the White Team closed out the game with more excellent defense, securing the clean sheet, and securing a spot in the Regional Tournament, held in Richmond, Virginia.

The White Team is proud to announce a strong undefeated regular season, recording 9 wins, 3 ties, 0 losses and even a championship trophy at the University of Florida's tournament. The team has certainly put in the work to earn their spot among the best, and will continue to fight and prove that point as the White Team move on to Regionals.

The White Team will likely have a scrimmage against Oglethorpe University in the coming week to stay sharp before traveling to Virginia. More details will be posted as that match approaches.
